LUA GANDARA

BIO

Lúa Gándara (O Porriño, 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo, she has completed a postgraduate degree in Sound Creation at the University of Barcelona and a master's degree in Secondary Education in the specialty of Arts and Drawing. Her plastic work has been selected and exhibited in numerous competitions such as the 15a mostra MAC, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Fundación Naturgy, the Prémio Artistas do Alto Minho e Galiza 2016 da Fundaçao Bienal de Cerveira, the VIII Premio para Novos Artistas Auditorio de Galicia or the X Bienal Internacional Pintor Laxeiro, among others. She has been awarded the First Prize “Novos talentos luso- galaicos” in the “IX Bienal de Pintura Premio Eixo Atlántico”, the “Xurado Novo” prize in the “Contemporary” Section at the Intersección Contemporary Audiovisual Art Festival of 2021 and the IX Concurso de Intervenciones Artísticas en las Torres Hejduk de la Ciudad de La Cultura de Galicia and the prize Colección Admiranda 2023 at the JustMad art fair.
